United Charities Bazaar 2010

On Saturday, 4th December 2010, over 100 NGO's and Charities will come together to be part of the most awaited Christmas Bazaar in the city. The United Charities Bazaar, the largest and most colorful bazaar of the year returns to our city and opens to a flurry of sights, sounds and tastes in order to help the city's underprivileged through this bazaar. The sale includes everything from handicrafts and table linen, home made pickles, jams and jellies to handmade christmas deco, apt for the season.

The bazaar was started and run successfully for over 30 years and this event provides an opportunity for charities from across India to raise funds for their respective causes. The event is organised by proVISION INDIA, a Bangalore based NGO focused on rural development, training and setting up self sustainability projects for unemployed youth across the country.

The Bazaar has been active for the last thirty years and their aims run deeper than just providing money for the needy. “We subscribe to the adage that teaching a man to fish is the only way to ensure that he never goes hungry,” says Paul C. Dass of Provision India, the organizers of the Bazaar this year, “The deprived have to be taught how to fend for themselves and we endeavour to facilitate this process.”

This years bazaar will see an unprecedented 75+ charities put up stalls between 9 am and 6 pm, on Saturday, 4th December 2010 at the Corporation Play Grounds, opp. St. Charles School, Lingarajpuram main road, Bangalore.
